Tulagi.
Two servicemen on the Island of Tulagi, waving good-bye to Japan's Admiral Yamamoto (left) and Hideki Tojo (right) who are in a boat sailing for home. Note: In the Battle of the Solomon Islands, the U.S. counter-offensive launched in August 1942, was against Japanese forces that had occupied the Islands in January 1942. American Marine forces seized Tulagi but complete victory was not obtained until November 15, 1942.
