About the Artist:
Arthur Szyk (1894-1951) painted these images in 1936 in Lodz, Poland. Despite the influence of Nazism spreading over Europe, Szyk possessed the inspiration to express and celebrate life where dancing, schmoozing, peddling, and honoring Zaydes and Bubbes were still part of everyday existence for the European Jew.
